BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

Receives incoming product and packages. Stores merchandise and supplies. Distributes product and other packages to appropriate locations of the branch.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cleans, marks for shipping, packs, and ships finished goods to customers.
  • Loads and unloads, moves boxes and skids products by hand.
  • Prepares boxes / skids / crates with appropriate shipping labels and insert shipping documents.
  • Orders supplies and product to ensure continued branch operations.
  • Prepares international documents (cert of origin and commercial invoices), as necessary.
  • Assist, as needed, in all other sales and service-related branch operations to include verifying accurate accounts, cycle counts, physically maintaining stock for customer pick-up.
  • Scans completed packages for UPS and freight truck shipments.
  • As needed, operates basic warehouse vehicles (i.e., pallet jack and/or forklift).
  • Tends to customers at counters within the branch.
  • Assists in minor maintenance of the branch.
  • Trains less experienced associates in branch receiving procedures and practices.
  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

What You Need:

  • A High School Diploma or the equivalent and some receiving experience is required.

 

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Basic computer literacy is required.
  • Good communications skills are required.

 

Other Requirements:

  • Bending to lift items from the floor and racks is required.
  • Lifting items of at least 50-75 pounds is required.
  • This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”) - *if needed for specific orgs/roles*.

Compensation starting at $12.23-$19.30/hr depending on candidate location and experience.

The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
