BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The VP, Corporate Finance, plays a vital role in the overall strategic financial management and growth of MSC, optimizing fiscal performance and day-to-day financial operations. The role oversees financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, reporting and will work closely with the executive team and key stakeholders to develop and execute a financial strategy that aligns with MSCs overall brand vision and growth objectives. The role will lead all corporate finance functions including corporate financial planning and analysis, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and tax.

This position requires a senior finance professional with a strong analytical mindset and exceptional communication skills. They will champion continuous improvement efforts and leverage best-in-class technology to drive productivity and increased effectiveness across their areas of responsibility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Develops and leads the company's financial planning processes, including annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
  • Analyze financial performance against key business metrics and document pertinent financial highlights that will enable management to determine progress against strategic/business plans.
  • Provides strategic recommendations and insights to senior leadership based on financial analysis and projections.
  • Identify, implement, and leverage advanced financial technologies and tools to streamline forecasting processes and enhance the accuracy of financial projections.

Operational Accounting (A/P & A/R):

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and accuracy within the operational accounting department.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial goals and operational processes.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring effective use of company resources.
  • Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain compliance with accounting standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all accounts payable transactions, including vendor payments and expense reimbursements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Implement and manage systems and processes to improve the efficiency and accuracy of accounts payable operations.
  • Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to enhance the order-to-cash value stream, ensuring efficient and effective processes from order receipt to cash collection.
  • Ensures of all accounts receivable processes are streamlined and effective, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices.
  • Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to minimize bad debts and optimize cash flow.
  • Monitor and report on the status of accounts receivable balances and collections activities.

Tax

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations and filings.
  • Develop tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position and minimize tax liabilities.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of all tax returns and ensure timely submission.

Team Development & Collaboration:

  • Works closely with other senior leaders to align financial and operational strategies.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing corporate finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Develop career development opportunities to nurture team growth and expertise.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure financial alignment across the organization.
  • Partners with various departments to support business planning, performance management, and strategic initiatives.
  • Drives process improvements and implement best practices to enhance financial and operational performance.
  • Collaborates closely with other finance departments, especially accounting and corporate planning, to ensure cohesive analysis of results and development of financial plans.
  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required
  • Drives the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSCs vision and unity of purpose.

QUALIFICATIONS

What You Need:

  • Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of ten years of progressive experience in finance, with at least five years in a leadership role.
  • High level of attention to detail and a strong process focus.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a finance team effectively.
  • Proficiency with financial software and tools.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting and related analytics.
  • Proven experience as a finance business partner to senior operational leaders.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
  • Collaborative and able to build strong relationships across the organization.
  • Excellent written, visual, and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Experience leading multiple corporate finance teams is highly desirable.

Other Requirements:

  • A valid drivers license may be required.
  • Position requires up to 35% of travel

Compensation starting at $176470 - $277000 depending on experience.

The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidates relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
