Vertical Market Group Program Onboarding Mangement Specialist

BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The Vertical Market Group (VMG) Onboarding Mgmt. Specialist is responsible for the overall execution of a system onboarding project plan for MSC's VMG- Public Sector and Commercial customer programs. The role will be responsible for understanding contract regulations and business requirements to effectively onboard a VMG customer program and ensure standards of process, policies, and system controls are in place, so that MSC meets all compliance requirements. Working alongside our VMG Sales, Compliance Management, and internal cross functional team's, the role will manage the end-to-end onboarding process in the system and provide guidance and support throughout other phases of solution implementation requirements for alignment, planning and successful execution of the commitments made to the customer. In this position, the individual must be able to interpret complex documents to operationalize and execute customer requirements with a focus on contract compliance to mitigate risk.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand all aspects of MSC operating processes to ensure accurate onboarding and administration of VMG contract requirements.
  • Supports the discovery phase of a VMG RFI/RFP opportunity, by reviewing requirements and identifying where system capabilities are needed to meet requirements.
  • Executes the operational onboarding responsibilities for MSC's VMG programs.
  • Reviews MSC customer documents, solicitations/proposals, contracts and agreements to identify and execute on all onboarding requirements.
  • Responsible for the management of the business system structure to successfully onboard VMG customers and ensure set up and all system controls are in place to meet contract requirements.
  • Assumes a collaborative role to foster relationships with cross functional SMEs and other business partners to proactively ensure we can effectively onboard customers to meet all required customer contract regulations.
  • Understands and ensures contract requirements are implemented/executed into MSC systems in accordance with appropriate Public Sector regulations and MSC policy and procedures. Including but not limited to Trade Act Agreement (TAA), Buy America Clause (BAA), Berry Amendment Requirements, Hex Chrome, and other Specialty Metals, FAR/DFAR.
  • Consistently communicates onboarding status and deadlines to ensure we meet customers' deliverables.
  • Creatively solve problems and navigate through roadblocks that come up due to unique needs of our VMG customers.
  • Understand and convey customer requirements on both a business and technical level to help identify system needs to keep MSC compliant with all contract regulations.
  • Leads the handoff process to all impacted teams for newly implemented VMG programs. This includes managing and communicating the execution tasks for an implementation to ensure that consistent, high quality post implementation support is achieved.
  • Maintains and displays thorough and complete knowledge of the Company's services/solutions,

products, partners, processes and organization.

  • Identify, design and continually improve the VMG Program onboarding processes and materials that enhance efficiency, maintain compliance, and customer experience.
  • Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information, responding to requests.
  • Drives quality control by developing and executing validation processes to ensure systems and program requirements continue to meet the contractual obligations agreed to with the customer mitigating long term exposure.
  • Responsible for solving problems and navigating through roadblocks that come up due to unique needs of our VMG customers that drive compliance requirements.
  • Understands and communicates all potential compliance concerns that would increase MSC's risk of meeting contractual obligations.
  • Actively collaborate and share new insights with peer group to further enhance operational excellence in support of effective and efficient program management.
  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS
What You Need:

  • Associate degree in Business Management or equivalent work experience in a similar role, required.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in a Business or Sales Operations environment is
  • required.
  • A minimum of (3) years' analytical, data management and reporting experience is required.
  • Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR), regulatory requirements and compliance experience associated with Public Sector is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with managing and manipulating large data sets, required.
  • Experience reading/interpreting Public Sector and Commercial contracts, required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Excellent listening skills and attention to detail to quickly resolve issues and get to root problems is required.
  • Experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with customers is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to plan, expedite, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, are required.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to support independent decision making is required.
  • Familiarity with MRO industrial distribution products and / or general government procurement process is required.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Experience with government procurement processes and guidelines, preferred.
  • Knowledge of government contracting principles (Federal / State / Reseller levels) is preferred.
  • Experienced user of AS400, SalesForce, SAP, and Tableau is preferred.
  • eProcurement experience, plus.

  • A valid driver's license may be required.
  • Position requires up to 10% of travel
  • This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”) - Must be a US Citizen.

Compensation starting at $61,880 - $94,983 depending on candidate location and experience.

The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
