BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
The Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Specialist ensures customer satisfaction through solutions by providing on-site customer service support including order replenishment, product put away, Lean (6S), maintaining solutions equipment etc. This role will partner with sales and business development teams to drive incremental revenue and growth through solutions.


 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive MSC customer loyalty through support and promotion of solutions.

  • Support and collaborate with MSC customer solutions and sales associates through the CARE program (Clean, Arrange, Relationships, Exceed Expectations).

  • Maintain 6S appearance of all solutions equipment.

  • Log daily activities in SFDC.

  • Ensure appropriate stock levels (min/max) are maintained.

  • Unpack, receive, and put away products at all solution points of use.

  • Connect with customer contacts to ensure solution retention.

  • Support product expansion through spot buys and incremental solution growth.

  • Lead safety compliance efforts for the VMIS team (100% safety focus).

  • Lead repair and maintenance of vending solution equipment to company standards.

  • Recommend solution and spot-buy growth opportunities to Sales Associates and Management; document in SFDC.

  • Support profitability improvement goals and objectives within assigned accounts.

  • Maintain knowledge of all inventory management solutions.

  • Build productive, professional relationships with key customer personnel.

  • Guide less experienced associates to resolve customer issues and improve product knowledge while promoting MSC culture.

  • Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards.

  • Use routing software tools to follow planned schedules and document daily activities.

  • Maintain timekeeping using MSC-approved time management applications.

  • Foster the MSC culture across departments to support company vision and unity.

  • Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

What You Need

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of two years servicing MSC inventory management solutions.

  • Advanced knowledge of vending solutions (setup, maintenance, repair).

  • Strong performance history and proven track record of success.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proven ability to meet and exceed company goals and objectives.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Understanding of company solutions, products, and services.

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Relevant military experience.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Ability to travel over 80% of the time within the assigned territory.

  • Overnight travel as needed based on business demands.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to walk, lift, bend, stretch, and stand for long periods.

  • Willingness to follow customer safety and PPE protocols.

  • Ability to pass customer-specific background checks (e.g., drug testing, criminal background screening).

  • May require access to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) or Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).



Compensation starting at $22-$25 per hour dependent on candidate location and experience.

The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
