BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

As part of the GO Team, this associate will focus efforts on Implementation of new Large Account/In-Plant programs, training new and existing In-Plant associates, and perform special projects in support of the success of the Large Account program and company success. Go Team Project is defined as incremental revenue of $750k or more with multiple solutions implemented at the customer site. This associate will travel to customer locations as part of the GO Team.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports new account implementation with focus on transactional go-live
  • Supports BNA process
  • Trains GO Team In-Plant associates in the general day to day responsibility including training with systems, solutions, product, and process
  • Communicates with customer and local sales owner on overall strategy
  • Strong understanding of MSC's business systems, Vending, VMI, In-Plant SOPs
  • Ability to cross refence and source complex data lists accurately
  • Ability to problem solve and ensure customer resolution
  • Provides customer service in accordance with MSC standards to ensure customer satisfaction, account retention, and revenue generation using all tools available
  • Closely connected with Project Management team to follow overall implementation strategy to maximize time to money
  • Builds customer relationships via exceptional levels of service to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Works closely with vendors to produce quotes, expedite orders, locate sources for products, and arrange product training.
  • Supports outside sales representatives in various branch activities.
  • Resolves more complex credit and collections issues to enhance customer service.
  • Ability to learn and work fluently within our customer's operating system or third-party software.
  • Implements and maintains an MSC VMI, Vending, or CMI program in customer location to enhance revenue generation.
  • Resolves customer product and service issues by providing sales-related solutions utilizing the most common source of information. Consults with other associates to locate alternate sources of information.
  • Represents MSC in conjunction with local sales owners at customer meetings by communicating MSC's Value Proposition, direction and strategy for alignment to customer goals and expectations.
  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate's Degree or the equivalent experience is required
  • Minimum of three years inbound/outbound telephone sales, outside sales, or customer service experience required preferably in the industrial or manufacturing segments.
  • Minimum two years in-depth knowledge of supply chain solutions such as - Vending, vendor managed inventory, storeroom management and cross reference experience is required.
  • Minimum two years' experience working with standard operating procedures (SOPs) required.
  • Industry experience required

SKILLS:

  • In depth knowledge and tactical use of the AS400 or like MSC business systems are required
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with email, various internet browsers and/or the Windows operating system required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills are required.
  • Excellent customer service and sales skills are required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required.
  • Working Industrial knowledge preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Overnight airline travel is required 75%-80% based on project scope
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Ability to lift items of up to 50 pounds required as needed.
  • Must adhere to all MSC and customer specific safety requirements such as wearing hardhats, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, etc.
  • Must be able to pass customer-specific background demands which may include but are not limited to drug testing, criminal background checks, etc.
  • This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”).

Compensation starting at $61224 - $74854 depending on candidate location and experience.

The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
