BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Logistics Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing supply chain operations and driving strategic initiatives across the distribution network. This position leverages data analytics, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance transportation efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect, interpret, and analyze logistics data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement. Develop actionable insights based on quantitative and qualitative assessments of current practices.
  • Evaluate existing logistics processes and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of goods. Utilize lean methodologies, Six Sigma, or other process improvement frameworks as necessary.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics operations, such as inventory turnover, on-time delivery rates, order accuracy, and freight costs. Report findings to management and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Evaluate logistics expenditures and recommend cost-saving initiatives, such as route optimization, carrier selection, and consolidation of shipments.
  • Lead and participate in logistics projects, including process redesigns, system implementations, and strategic initiatives. Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables, and ensure successful execution.
  • Ensure logistics operations comply with regulatory requirements, including customs regulations, transportation laws, and workplace safety standards. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to streamline transportation processes.
  • Lead cost-saving initiatives through route optimization, carrier negotiations, and process enhancements.
  • Support network modeling and scenario planning for capacity and demand fluctuations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
  • Manage logistics-related projects from concept through implementation.
  • Provide analytical support for carrier selection and contract management.
  • Monitor and report on freight spend and budget adherence.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for service failures and develop corrective action plans.
  • Assist in the development of SOPs and training materials for logistics operations.
  • Utilize ERP and other Electronic Systems to support daily operations.
  • Foster the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC?s vision and unity of purpose.
  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS What You Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business, Analytics, or related field or the equivalent relevant work experience required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in logistics, transportation or data analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience with TMS and ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of freight and distribution operations.

Bonus Points If You Have: Advanced Excel skills including macros and pivot tables. Experience with Alteryx or other data analytics platforms. Strong customer service and communication skills. Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Experience working in a high-volume distribution environment. Other Requirements: A valid driver’s license may be required. Position requires up to 10% of travel. This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (ITAR) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)

Compensation starting at $81000 - $95000 depending on experience.

The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity.  The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
