BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The Rebate Analyst Level II is responsible for taking a lead role in overseeing the training of associates, providing leadership support, as well as analyzing, maintaining, processing, validating, submitting for payment, and reconciling discrepancies for all customer rebates.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Track rebate programs with varying terms and conditions for several MSC customers.
  • Responsible for working with the Contracts Compliance and Legal teams each month to review expiring rebates and new rebates. Makes any necessary additions or adjustments to the rebate model ensuring it is programmed with the latest terms and conditions.
  • Ability to interpret and understand the terms and conditions of a contract as they relate to compliance requirements and the parameters under which the rebates are paid.
  • Builds and maintains rebate models with customer Sales and payment data by running and aligning accruals with accounting ledger.
  • Manually calculate rebate programs that can't be maintained in the rebate model.
  • On a monthly basis, performs tests on the largest rebate customers to analyze and validate if an accrual adjustment is necessary.
  • Update detailed rebate accrual document and provide to Financial Reporting to ensure rebate costs are accurately reflected in the financial results.
  • Process customer payments including reviewing customer receivables balances; preparing check requests, cover letters, and detailed customer support to be emailed and mailed to customer.
  • Accountable for creating and overseeing the rebate forecast process.
  • Lead quarterly finance rebate meetings, presenting the status and forecast of rebates.
  • Manage rebate hold process based on account receivable status.
  • Identify and recommend the development of enhancements to streamline or improve processes.
  • Work cross functionally throughout the organization to help improve processes within the Rebate Team.
  • Provide visibility and guidance to the Sales Team on rebate related issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, at various levels within MSC, the results, guidance and strategies associated with the analysis.
  • Respond in a timely manner to inquiries from both internal and external customers as they relate to customer accruals, sales information, rebate status and rebate payment history.
  • Develop/maintain SOP's and trains associates on existing and new processes.
  • Work with the Internal Audit Team on projects/testing of rebate process.
  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
  • Leads and/or participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

What You Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Business, Accounting or Finance)
  • Minimum of five years relevant experience required.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Expert proficiency with Excel and Tableau, Alteryx, Business Objects required.
  • Strong analytical ability, originality and ingenuity required. Demonstrated ability to retrieve, manage, and absorb data quickly required.
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle and SQL database queries and reporting required.
  • Previous work with reviewing & interpreting contracts required.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills required.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills

Other Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel up to 5% of the time are required.
  • This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”) 

Compensation starting at $63420 - $99660 depending on experience.

The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
