BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
Inspect incoming product for compliance and report nonconformities for proper follow up to meet customer requirements and industry standards. The team member will also perform various tasks which support the daily operations of the quality assurance department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform inspection and ID of parts and materials using standard inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges.
- Utilizing the QMS and QCBD portals.
- Performs part layouts and ISIR's.
- Record product inspection results in Inspection Database.
- Check non-conforming parts for compliance & submit findings to Quality Manager.
- Review various material and process certifications for adherence to customer and internal purchase order requirements.
- Maintenance of customer prints, drawings, and certifications.
- Maintains certificates of conformity, declarations of conformity, with links in P21.
- Enters data for APQP's.
- Enters data for new PPAP's into the PPAP database.
- Maintains and organizes retained samples and archived quality files.
- Assures that gauges and inspection equipment is in proper working order and has a current calibration certificate.
- Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
- Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
What You Need:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); 1 year quality control inspection experience.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to read basic blueprints.
- Utilizing a variety of inspection equipment and tools.
- Attendance and punctuality.

- Regular lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 10 pounds.
- Communicate with suppliers on quality issues.
- Address customer complaints, requests for quality assessments, regulatory compliance, or other needs in the scope of services provided and agreed by contract.
- Basic mathematical skills, with the ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
