BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring products and processes required at customer-facing locations meet established quality standards and customer requirements. This role supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality systems in compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, GMP, etc.).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform inspections, audits, and tests on products, processes, or services to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
  • Investigate quality issues, non-conformances, and customer complaints; implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain and improve the company?s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring documentation is current and aligned with regulatory and certification requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, including regulatory and customer audits.
  • Provide training and guidance on quality standards and procedures to cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, supply chain, and other departments to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support supplier quality initiatives, including evaluations and audits.
  • Generate and maintain quality reports, dashboards, and documentation for management review.
  • Creates standardized forms, work instructions, SOPs, POPs, and policies.
  • Partners with the management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting, and implementing continuous improvement activities
  • Ensure training for the Quality Management System is effective.
  • Ensure internal audits of the QMS are process-based and that they are effective.
  • Participating in the planning, development, creation, and implementation of training programs
  • Supports project deliverables, discusses project quality with management.
  • Assists with implementation and maintenance of the electronic QMS, providing business administration oversight and engagement where needed.
  • Perform audits and surveillances of areas to ensure proper compliance to requirements.
  • Maintains Quality directives, policies, processes, procedures and metrics to assure program, contract, customer, regulatory requirements, international standards and working agreements are deployed using established procedures.
  • Collects and verifies data to support the identification of root cause routine problems.
    Provides ideas and concepts for corrective action development.
  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC?s vision and unity of purpose.
  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

What You Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in quality management, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field or the equivalent relevant work experience is required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a quality assurance or quality control role.
  • Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., root cause analysis, FMEA, 5 Whys, Pareto Analysis).
  • Familiarity with QMS software and document control systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience with quality standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or GMP is preferred.
  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt)

Other Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license may be required.
  • Position requires up to 25% of travel
  • This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (ITAR) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).

Compensation starting at $56280 - $88440 / year and up, dependent on experience.

The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
