BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
The position of Purchasing Manager - Strategy includes the management of all Purchasing activities for Strategic Customers in accordance with AIS Purchasing Guidelines. The position is also responsible for Continuous Improvement Projects targeting AIS ERP system functionality and Process Driven enhancements within the Purchasing Department. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership:

- Lead, Develop and Mentor Direct Reporting Associates
- Contribute to and track Direct Reports' performance metrics
- Contribute to Onboarding and Offboarding Processes for Direct Reports
- Communicate with other customer support functions on inventory analysis
Purchasing:
Lead Inventory analyst and buyer for assigned strategic customer accounts.
Entering and managing Secondary Process and Production Orders
Expediting parts and PO's that are not scheduled to arrive on time
Identifying GAP buy alternatives to prevent Line Downs from occurring
Communicate directly with our Domestic and Overseas suppliers regarding purchasing activities, product sourcing, and negotiations on delivery and pricing.
Review supplier performance, negotiate pricing levels, and develop new suppliers as needed in coordination/support of the Sourcing Department
Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met
Inventory Management:
Monitoring and forecasting of incoming inventory receipts and inventory levels
Review and adjust Planning Parameters to optimize inventory levels
Coordinate Internal material transfers between AIS facilities
Continuous Improvement:
Lead Continuous Improvement Projects focused on Process Driven enhancements within the Purchasing Department
Optimize functionally of ERP System (P21) and communicate enhancements across entire Purchasing Department
Utilize Landed Cost Functionality to maximize profitability
Drives the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Business, Finance, or Engineering) or 7 years of relevant purchasing and management experience.
Direct OEM Fastener or Component supply chain experience
CPIM/CSCP APICS certification preferred.
