BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will report to the Leader of Safety Services and is responsible for executing MSC Industrial Supply's industrial safety training strategy. The Safety Services Training Program Manager leads the stabilization, delivery, and expansion of safety training and services while helping establish the foundation for a scalable Industrial Safety Services division.

This role operates initially as an individual contributor and program manager, working directly with Field Sales to support customer safety and compliance needs. The position serves as a key resource for urgent training requests, program development, partner coordination, and the expansion of standardized industrial safety service offerings.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acts as the primary resource for time-sensitive customer OSHA training requests and urgent safety compliance needs.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for safety training content and service delivery coordination.
  • Conducts or coordinates job walks to support the Safety Needs Analysis process, including:
    • NFPA 70E Arc Flash Risk Assessments
    • Lockout/Tagout Assessments
    • Machine Guarding Assessments
  • Develops an onsite baseline hearing program as a revenue solution for approval and implementation.
  • Initially assists and backfills open Industrial Safety Consultant states to maintain field engagement until training capabilities are fully built.
  • Supports Safety Services in identifying and vetting third-party OSHA training providers across core disciplines.
  • Coordinates training provider support for:
    • Overhead Crane and Rigging
    • Confined Space and Fall Protection
    • Material Handling
    • MEWP, or Mobile Elevated Work Platform
    • HAZWOPER and Hazardous Materials
    • Emergency Response
    • First Aid, CPR, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Implements leader-approved training offerings, including scope of work, pricing recommendations, and service level expectations.
  • Ensure consistency in training quality, documentation, certification, and compliance with all delivery partners.
  • Executes standardized processes for scheduling, reporting, certification tracking, and customer follow-up.
  • Partners with Safety Services to define the structure and scope of the Industrial Safety Training Services Team.
  • Supports development of a phased hiring and capability build plan aligned with field sales demand.
  • Assists in defining roles and responsibilities, training curriculum, and standard operating procedures.
  • Contributes to existing standardized service offerings, including assessments, audits, and Safety Needs Analyses.
  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

What You Need:

  • A bachelor's degree or the equivalent relevant work experience is required.
  • 10 or more years of experience in a safety-related role with knowledge of safety products and services is required.
  • OSHA 30-hour training or Qualified Safety Sales Professional, or equivalent experience, is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA General Industry Regulations, State OSHA Regulations where applicable, and Industry Safety Standards.
  • Experience with NFPA 70E, Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, hearing conservation, or similar safety programs required.
  • Experience working with third-party training providers and service partners is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to support field sales and customer-facing engagements.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and coordinate internal and external partners.
  • Ability to present, communicate, and gain support for an idea.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build scalable processes and service programs.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience in industrial safety training, assessments, and compliance support is preferred.
  • Experience coordinating or delivering OSHA-related training programs is preferred.
  • Experience in the Industrial Distribution industry is preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license may be required.
  • Position requires up to 40% of travel
  • This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”)

Compensation starting at $81700 - $128260 depending on candidate location and experience.

The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
