BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
The Inside Sales Territory Specialist supports open Regional and Strategic portfolios through phone-based customer engagement until assignment to a permanent owner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages telephone interactions with established customers in open Regional and Strategic portfolios until transition to a permanent portfolio owner.
- Duties may include contact management, brand building, relationship building and initiating and capitalizing on quote/sales opportunities.
- Responsible for the achievement of sales productivity and sales metrics associated with various sales enablement tools and processes.
- Studies and learns the basics about MSC's products, services and fundamental sales techniques.
- Captures customer profiles and operational procurement processes to understand and determine potential and to build the prioritization of the call frequency and the penetration plan required.
- Identifies opportunities throughout the customer's environment and leverages strategic resources such as MSC's Special Services Teams, Strategic Suppliers, and other MSC cross-functional resources to drive improvements and value around customer specific operational and technical needs.
- Drives two-way communication and engages the customer by deliberately linking their business priorities to our value proposition.
- Understands and influences a wide range of customer stakeholders.
- Incorporates economic drivers and has a deep knowledge of customer's business, current macro- and microeconomic trends, industry trends, and potential new business opportunities.
- Qualifies and quantifies the impact of maintaining the status quo or pursuing competitors' solutions.
- Leverages MSC sales and operational processes, and technology tools to execute activities in support of their customers.
- Enrolls and completes assigned talent development plans to further build skills and competencies.
- Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
- Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
What You Need:
- A High School Diploma or the equivalent is required.
- 0-2 years of sales/customer service experience is preferred.
- Basic computer literacy, Excel, Word, Salesforce required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
Other Requirements:
- A valid driver's license is required.
Compensation starting at $16.29 - $25.60 depending on candidate location and experience.
The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
