BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for leading a MSC's Inside Sales team within the channel. This role is solely responsible for the execution of both sales and gross margin dollar growth plans in both Metalworking and MRO product categories within the small customer segment. This position is responsible for a range of approximately $30M-$45M in revenue dollars and approximately 11-13 FTE's (associates). The responsibility may consist of multiple Inside Sales roles aligned to the small customer life cycle, defined by potential and % of market share achieved. The Team Leader is also responsible for the team's execution against key sales strategies and projects under the guidance of the Director of Inside Sales. This role is also focused on cross-functional collaboration to achieve customer loyalty in the small business segment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- $30M to $45M in revenue responsibility within the small customer segment predominantly.
- Leads front-line associates within the inside sales channel for the small customer segment.
- Creates an environment that embraces change, makes change happen, and helps others to accept new ideas.
- Responsible for the inside sales channels established sales revenue, margin, and productivity goals
- Manages sales portfolios to ensure alignment to company's go-to market approach and achievement of targeted sales levels.
- Develops and cultivates good customer relations through telephone and in-person contact. Responds to customers' needs, consistent with MSC standards, culture, and business practices.
- Executes business plans with SME's and strategic suppliers to drive market share growth
- Presents business plans in small and large audiences across the business.
- Generates relevant reports for MSC management as needed.
- Pro-actively suggests new technology capabilities (feature and functions) that complement Inside Sales go to market and ability to capture market share.
- Works cross functionally with other leaders within MSC on projects and plans to drive customer loyalty and achievement of revenue targets.
- Attracts, develops, and retains talent to ensure that people with the right skills and motivations are in place to meet the business needs. Additionally, can hire, deliver coaching, corrective actions, and terminate when necessary.
- Develops career development plans for team that include very strong coaching plans to support growth.
- Executes fair, consistent, and effective coaching and performance management plans within MSC guidelines.
- Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
- Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
What You Need:
- High school diploma or the equivalent required
- Minimum of 3 years sales experience required
- Minimum of three years supervisory experience OR five years of relevant business experience required.
- Development and use of metrics to support sales and service performance required.
- Planning/managing financial goals and reporting required
- Expertise in developing vendor support and incentive programs to motivate sales performance required.
- Expertise with, application and use of CRM tools required.
- Excellent coaching and performance management skills required.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills required
- Ability to drives strong leadership and associate engagement plans required
- Able to analyze complex issues and problems and develop practical solutions.
- Demonstrates the ability to apply creativity and develop innovative solutions to drive results.
- Builds positive relationships, within and outside the organization, to drive business performance by communicating, networking, and influencing effectively.
- Coaches through an ongoing and dynamic series of job-embedded interactions with his or her direct reports, designed to diagnose and correct or reinforce behaviors, specific to that individual.

Bonus Points If You Have:
- College degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience preferred
- Call Center and/or Inside Sales operations experience preferred.
- Experience with innovative technology tools preferred

- A valid driver's license may be required.
- Position requires up to 5% of travel

Compensation starting at $58511 - $91946 with commission opportunities depending on candidate location and experience.
The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
