BRIEF SUMMARY:
The DC operations Manager is responsible and held accountable for overseeing all Distribution Center operations with oversight of the DC Leads and Team Members. Primary focus will be on the warehousing operations, the VMI operations within the DCs region, the facility and the VMI fleet compliance and maintenance. This position will also require a comprehensive manufacturing and distribution operations acumen, and the ability to develop, implement and manage the operational and logistical support necessary to achieve customer satisfaction. This position also requires analysis and leadership of all organizational processes related to operations, VMI, sourcing, procurement, and the ability to effectively collaborate with other functional areas to meet or exceed our customers expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop, execute, and maintain tools and techniques to evaluate the impact of schedule changes caused by human, equipment, or supply issues.

Communicate and collaborate with the Director of Operations and the VP of VMI on product and service delivery to VMI customers.

Manage operations in a 50,000 – 100,000 sq. ft. distribution center with 30 – 50 associates and team leads.

Work with sales teams and customers to review products and/or operational processes.

Coordinate and schedule daily workflows, including customer orders, branch transfers, production orders, and secondary processes.

Lead cross-departmental collaboration on continuous improvement projects, including Lean and Kaizen initiatives.

Monitor progress of improvement initiatives in AIS and maintain regular communication with project champions and business owners.

Resolve inventory flow and production control issues to enhance distribution center efficiency.

Ensure all products (OEM, discrete, and VMI) are delivered on time with a 99.95% on-time delivery rate.

Maintain inventory accuracy by managing adjustments and ensuring proper distribution controls.

Measure and report warehouse activity and associate performance using established KPIs and visual performance tools.

Promote and enforce a safe, clean, and healthy work environment in compliance with regulations and internal policies.

Ensure smooth and efficient services that meet or exceed customer and supplier expectations.

Communicate customer issues with the operations team and implement solutions to improve the customer experience.
Additional Responsibilities

Ensure all vehicle maintenance and DOT compliance are properly recorded and maintained.

Maintain communication and coordination with vendors and contractors to ensure facility cleanliness and safety.

Oversee the daily operations of the VMISS Team to deliver exceptional customer service.

Participate in cross-functional corporate and divisional projects and meetings.

Foster MSC culture throughout the department and company.

Collaborate with the Director of Operations on all administrative tasks, including hiring, performance evaluations, performance improvement plans, and terminations.

Conduct customer visits and support customer engagement initiatives.
-
Manage departmental expenses, ensuring adherence to monthly budgets and taking corrective action when needed.

Support and participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.
Education and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Operations Management or a minimum of five (5) years of warehouse management experience.

Minimum of ten (10) years of management experience.
-
Minimum of seven (7) years of service management or technical experience.

Proven track record in leading change management initiatives and delivering measurable results.
-
DOT physical required.
Skills and Qualifications

Prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
Other Requirements

Valid driver’s license.

Ability to travel up to 25%.

Ability to lift up to 50–60 lbs.
Compensation starting at $65,000 - 80,000 depending on experience.
The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
