BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
The role of Accountant, Manufacturing is the day-to-day finance contact for customers, vendors and the sales force with respect to the Premier Tool Grinding business. The role supports business operations and prepares standard accounting tasks. In addition, they will process customer and vendor data / transactions, generate reporting, and interact with customers, vendors and other functional team members as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Finance contact for customers, vendors, and sales force for Premier Tool Grinding.
- Prepare monthly inventory reports.
- Manage banking activities with MSC, ACH, and Wires.
- Prepare account reconciliations with supporting documentation for all balance sheet accounts.
- Provide information to the Tru-Edge Accounting and Business Support Manager, Manufacturing to prepare financial reports, submit monthly financial statements and account reconciliations.
- Close production work orders and make packing slips for shipping goods, following up on aged work orders as necessary.
- Process customer invoicing, generating and sending monthly statements, customer cash application, and follow-up on past due invoices.
- Create purchase orders for work orders (production materials), shop, and office supplies.
- Process vendor invoices in QuickBooks and manage payables for disbursements.
- Responsible for obtaining support for and properly recording purchasing card charges, along with statement reconciliation.
- Handle document retention for areas of responsibility.
- Handle Customer Service and Vendor correspondence (emails and phone calls).
- Update monthly maintenance reports used by operations.
- Manage incoming phone traffic and direct as necessary. Some may be related to the role.
- Greet and escort clients and visitors as soon as they arrive in the office in a professional and friendly manner.
- Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.
- Foster the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSCs vision and unity of purpose.
- Work with various groups and functions to facilitate continuous process improvement.
- Obtain data from a variety of sources and aggregate, analyze, and report on such data as needed.
What You Need:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or the equivalent relevant work experience is required.
- Excellent time management skills are required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Proficiency in computer spreadsheet, word processing and presentation software is required.
- CPA and/or public accounting experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of JobBoss, QuickBooks is a plus.
Other Requirements:
- A valid drivers license may be required.
- Position requires up to 10% of travel
Compensation starting at $64620 - $72000 depending on experience.
The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidates relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
